Shark Bay Refuse Site (Tip)

The Shark Bay Site is located on Shark Bay Road approximately 2km from the Denham Townsite. 

Operating Hours

Current opening times:

Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 12:00pm + 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Saturday: 8:00am to 12.00pm

Sunday: Closed

Public Holidays: Closed

Current Shark Bay Refuse Site Fees 

Bin Collection  

Collection Days are Tuesdays and Fridays.

Please observe these requirements to assist with your waste collection

  • Bin lids must be closed
  • Do not overload the bin (maximum 70kg)
  • Bins must be placed on the verge prior to 6.00am on your collection day
  • Bins must face the road (wheels and handles facing your property)
  • Leave a half metre gap between bins or obstacles
  • Do not place rubbish beside or on top of the bin,
  • No paint, chemicals, liquids, car batteries or motor oil
  • Remove the bin from the verge as soon as possible after collection
  • The bins are for domestic waste only
  • Do not put bricks, heavy timber or steel in the bin –these materials can damage the collection equipment and your bins
  • Your bin may not be picked up if these items are placed in the bin.

Recycling  

Residents can drop-off household amounts of recyclables including bottles, cans, paper and cardboard at the Shark Bay Bring Centre, located at 105 Dampier Road, Denham.  The Shark Bay Bring Centre is open all hours and is for the use of residents only (no commercial use). 

The Shark Bay Bring Centre is for the use of listed recyclables ONLY, please do not dump any junk or general waste. The site is monitored by CCTV at all times, please click here for the list of recyclables. 

Containers for Change initiative is operated by the ABC Foundation at Yadgalah Aboriginal Corporation (9 Francis Rd) at the below opening hours:

Monday:         12:00pm – 5:00pm
Tuesday:        10:00am – 3:00pm
Wednesday:  12:00pm – 5:00pm
Thursday:      12:00pm – 5:00pm
Friday:            10:00am -  3:00pm

 

Clean-up Day

The Shire of Shark Bay participates in the annual Clean-Up Australia Day in March.
