Cyclonic Wind Design

The Shire of Shark Bay is located within a cyclone prone area and specific attention is required to be given to structural details of all buildings.

Shark Bay is located in Wind Region C. Wind Classification for Shark Bay is C2/C3.

All structures must be designed and built to comply with the current version of Australian Standard AS1170: Structural Design Actions: Part 2 - Wind Actions.

It is essential applicants liaise with the Principal Building Surveyor to ascertain the specific site criteria to enable property design and construction to occur. This certification is required to be lodged with the Building Application Form.
